SON JACK JR and MICHAEL WILDE with special guest BAD LUCK and TROUBLE

04/17/2010

Pour one part each of Son House, John Lee Hooker, RL Burnside, Mississippi Fred McDowell, Robert Johnson, Charley Patton, Skip James, and Blind Willie Johnson into a large blender. Add a couple splashes of Big Bill Broonzy, Sleepy John Estes and Long John Baldry. Add triple measures of guitar wizardry, top notch songwriting, engaging stage presence, and alot of sweat and you've got an idea of what a Son Jack Jr show is like.

Son Jack Jr. is a blues singer, songwriter and guitarist who performs acoustic solo, duo & electric band sets.

Raised in London, England, he moved to the US in 1997 where he re-started a musical career that had been dormant for 20 years. Back in the 70’s and ‘80’s he recorded, performed and toured extensively in the UK. Now he's back with two critically acclaimed releases since 2005.

His latest album “When The Devil Calls” hit the Top 50 chart on payplay.fm in May 2008 and gets regular airplay on local, national and international radio, including XM Satellite’s Channel 74, BluesVille.

“…he makes you shiver. His beautiful voice, his perfectly timed licks and his never ceasing love for the Mississippi Delta amaze me.” ROOTSTIME

“…an amazingly talented player and singer of the Delta Blues. Fans of the Delta Blues will quickly fall in love with the unique way Son Jack Jr. offers his special interpretation of that style.” BLUES UNDERGROUND NETWORK

“…Original back porch, acoustic blues that's flavored with the founders of this art form. If you have a soul his music connects to it.” BLUESLETTER

“I love country blues and don’t hear much these days so I was happy to hear the new CD by Son Jack Jr. He must really love country blues because he sure has the feel”. CHARLIE MUSSELWHITE

2008 WA Blues Society “Best of the Blues” Awards: Nominated for Best Traditional Blues act, Best Solo/Duo act, Best Acoustic Guitar, Best Songwriter

Opening the show will be Bad Luck and Trouble:

Slim Jimmy D and Mike Hudson as “Bad Luck & Trouble” are an acoustic duo playing Delta, Hill Country and variety of blues. This new duo recently performed at The Highway 99 Blues club and Leatherheads in Stanwood, WA.

Jimmy D has played harmonica with numerous bands in the Mississippi Delta, Beale Street in Memphis, San Francisco, Chicago and across the Pacific Northwest.

Bad Luck & Trouble brings some Bakin’ Blues to the scene.
