Sister Wives was named one of the Best New Bands of the Year in the SLAMMy's (Salt Lake Music Awards) voted by the readers of Salt Lake City Weekly Magazine.
They get a lot of questions about the name Sister Wives. Just to clear things up, none of them are sisters at least to each other. Some of them are wives, but that's really beside the point. "Sister Wives" is a term used to describe the relationship of wives in a polygamous relationship and is generally considered a term of endearment. And no, none of them are in a polygamous relationship either. It's just a great band name! Here's some insight into the members:

Spent four years in Nashville as singer/songwriter: experiences include lead singer/songwriter for the "Mona Rae Stevens Band" regularly headlining at clubs such as Bluebird Cafe, Douglas Corner, Diamond in the Ruff. Studied Music Business and song writing in Nashville for 3 years. Numerous guest appearances performing on the “Merchants Radio Show” and television shows “American Magazine” and “Be A Star.” Over 13 years experience in Utah clubs and restaurants as member of trio, duet, and a soloist.
Jani Gamble [bass, vocals] Singer/songwriter/guitarist/lyricist for over ten years; co-produced several local recording projects as well as an annual musical production. Co-founder, writer, and lead vocalist with local band “Twist of Faith.” Experience includes duo and band work (vocal and instrumental) at public and private functions along the Wasatch Front, as well as studio work. Classically trained; studied folk and blues on both guitar and mandolin.
Amy Boettger [drums, vocals] Diverse background ranging from nightclub band venues to symphonic and orchestral to drum & bugle corps. Jesse Luckett [lead guitar, vocals] As the newest Sister, Jesse joined the band and made her first public appearance with the Sister Wives in August of 2003 and has been adding her screamin' blues licks and subtle slide riffs to the Sister Wives sound since then. While primarily playing lead electric and acoustic lead, she has been stepping up more with that sultry bluesy voice as well. Born in Amish Pennsylvania, Jesse has lived all over the country. She is currently a full-time student at the University of Utah, majoring in Anthropology. Jesse loves songwriting and hopes music plays a big part in her future. Her blues influences are Johnny Winters, Ry Cooder, Deborah Coleman, Blues Roots, Rory Block, Jimi Hendrix, Stevie Ray Vaughn and Eric Sardinas.
