CANCELLED - BRIAN LEE and the ORBITERS
Friday, May 1, 2020

CANCELLED - BRIAN LEE and the ORBITERS

Get ready for a stellar ride through the traditional blues universe! Brian Lee & the Orbiters are among the premier bands on the Northwest blues circuit, and have earned an impressive reputation for being among the finest purveyors of traditional blues, while forging their own unique sound. The "Orbiters" name evokes the concept of the band - a "broad orbit through the blues universe". Brian delivers dynamic and engaging performances with melodic vocals, exceptional song writing, and superb harmonica, slide guitar, and guitar.

The incredible Orbiters rhythm section features Mark Dalton on bass and Russ Kammerer on drums, and the groove really swings! Completing the Orbiters sound on guitar is the remarkable Mahiko Fujita, who is an exceptionally fine guitarist deeply versed in the blues and jazz traditions.

Brian and band have been nominated by the Washington Blues Society for the 2019 "Best of the Blues" (BB) award for Best Traditional Blues Band. They have been honored with this award in 2018, 2017, 2015, 2014, and 2013, and also with the award for Best Blues Band in 2014. Brian was also awarded Best Slide Guitar in 2017, Best Songwriter in 2012, and the band’s “Identity Theft” album was awarded the 2012 Best Recording.

CANCELLED - MICHELE D'AMOUR and the LOVE DEALERS

Michele D'Amour grew up in West Seattle and was a child prodigy on piano at the age of six. She also started singing very early on, performing in her church choir. Michele enjoyed writing from an early age and became a published poet in her late teens. Later, Michele earned her chops singing with several different local bands and writing her own music, winning a Grand Prize in the John Lennon Songwriting Competition in 2017.

Michele D’Amour and the Love Dealers have released six CDs: Sin Comin’ On, in February 2014; Ante Up, in March 2015; and Lost Nights at the Leopard Lounge, in June 2017. 2018’s Wiggle Room spent 13 weeks at #1 on Roots Music Report’s Jazzy Blues chart. In 2019, they released Heart of Memphis, which debuted at #3 on the Roots Music Report and has spent 13 weeks at #1 on the Roots Music Report to date. Their most recent album is Christmas in Blue, released Nov. 1, 2019.

The band was awarded “Best Blues Band” by LA Music Critic in January 2019. Heart of Memphis earned the group three silver medals from Global Music Awards for Female Vocalist, Band, and Album. The band enjoys interacting with fans by wandering through the audience, enlisting audience members as backup singers, and whatever other shenanigans they come up with!

Showtime is 7:30PM.

CANCELLED - TEA SEAS TRIO
Wednesday, May 20, 2020

CANCELLED - TEA SEAS TRIO

Bellingham-based Tea Seas Trio is difficult to define and impossible to resist! They play an intoxicating mix of psychedelic surf jazz, latin boogaloo, enigmatic funk, spy themes and film soundtrack reinventions. And that’s just for starters.

One of the busiest trios in the area, its members Tyler Morgan Clarke (guitars, vocals), Roger Yamashita (bass) and Joel Litwin (drums) bring with them extensive jazz training, rock sensibilities and a penchant for the obscure. Their deep grooves and electrifying repertoire captivate audiences wherever and whenever they play.

This is an eclectic and exhilarating group, unlike any other you’re likely to see. They make even the esoteric accessible and thoroughly engaging. Crowd-pleasing music.
